We are reading through the book of John as a family. As we near Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem before his crucifixion, my kids have been watching the threatened reaction to Him coming from some of the Pharisees. Yesterday, as we read chapter twelve they were kind of amazed that the Pharisees even wanted to kill Lazarus (12:10) who was glorifying Jesus after being raised from the dead.

But the sweetest and purest exclaimation of delight came from my daughter yesterday morning when I read this,

John 12:19 So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”

Her eyes widened as she stood up from the table and stepped over to our Voice of the Martyrs prayer map and said, “Just like them! Even though they are being persecuted, more and more people are believing in God!”

We hear a lot of bad news, but my daughter lit up with the good news this week, and she’s right. It lit me up too.

Pass it on!
