Dear Praying Family,

My heart is bursting it’s banks as I continue to work on The Martyrs’ Cross Prayerbook/ Companion… I am struck again and again with how we are called to be the living body of Messiah in this earth. The church is not a place, but a people who witness to the reality of our living God.

We have many examples of leaders in the Scriptures, men and woman whom the Lord worked deliverance through. This weekend our family read about some of the leadership of Moses and Aaron. One particular place you may remember (Exodus 32) the people became impatient waiting for Moses to come back down the mountain and they talked Aaron into helping them create a golden calf to worship.

When Moses made it back down the mountain and asked Aaron what he had done and how he had allowed it to happen, Aaron blamed the people and only took responsibility so far as to say that he told the people to bring their gold and that he threw the gold into the fire, “…and out came this calf!” (Exodus 32:24)

However, we find out something very significant from Moses about this time, later, at the end of his life: “…the Lord was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him, but at that time I prayed for Aaron too.” (Deuteronomy 9:19-20)

I’ve never been more convinced in my life that our Deliverer wants to lead us on, grow, and mature us into understanding, that He wants us to be like Him. Our Deliverer is growing us into deliverers. How integral is the ministry of intercession to this calling? Well, was Aaron destroyed? Was Israel destroyed? Intercede on, dear family.

A prayer for us all to join in for the Beloved, the Bride of Messiah:
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus the Messiah. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” (1 Thess. 5:23-24)

Raynna, for the whole gang.
